Registered Nurse - Postpartum

Location

  • Cambridge, Massachusetts

Schedule

  • Rotating shift
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other major holiday required

Assignment Details

  • Acute care experience required
  • Floating not required
  • On-call not required
  • 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Massachusetts
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NRP
  • Acute Care experience
  • Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • Post Partum experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lactation certification
  • Travel experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted

Clinical Notes

  • Common patient types include post-vaginal delivery, post-c-section delivery, intermittent postpartum magnesium, and postpartum hemorrhage
  • Required medications/drips include IV antibiotics, intermittent IV magnesium, PRBC, Rhogam, and Lovenox
  • Unit equipment includes blood pressure monitor, fetal monitor, venodynm machine, IV pump, panda warmer, and Medela breast pump
  • Newborn patients
  • 13 postpartum beds and 4 continuing care nursery beds

Additional Information

  • Flu vaccine required during season
  • Scrubs are provided
  • Hospital system-wide orientation: 3 days
  • Unit orientation: 3 days
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted
