ICU RN Travel/Contract Job

Overview

  • Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
  • Setting: Regional Medical Center
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • Weekly hours: 36
  • Contract length: 21 weeks
  • Patient ratio: Typically 1:2–3
  • Schedule expectations: Every other weekend, floating, and holidays are required
  • Holiday requirement: Must work two of the three winter holidays
  • Longer assignment option: Available through January 9, 2027

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Strong neuro critical care experience
  • Ventilator management
  • Conscious sedation
  • Dysrhythmia recognition and management
  • Stepdown experience
  • ED - Emergency Department experience
  • Med Surg experience
  • Experience with Epic

Required Certifications

  • BLS, American Heart Association only
  • ACLS, American Heart Association only
  • NIH Stroke Scale / NIHSS

Required Skills

  • Strong neuro critical care experience
  • Ventilator management
  • IV drip titration
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Conscious sedation
  • Dysrhythmia recognition and management
  • Emergency response and critical care management

Floating

  • Stepdown Unit
  • Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held

Compliance Notes

  • Candidates with any license or background hits are not considered
  • Local RN candidates living within 50 miles are not eligible
  • Submission must include a completed cover sheet, current NURSYS report, and all requested time off listed on the cover sheet
