CVICU Registered Nurse
Job Overview
- Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- Hours per week: 36
- Patient ratio: 1:1–2
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- CVICU (2 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax devices, or experience with fresh heart cases
- Post Op Open Heart Recovery experience
- Swan catheter experience
- Flotrack monitoring experience
- Temporary pacemaker insertion and management experience
- Arterial line (Aline) placement and management experience
- Chest tube management experience
- Ability to float to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units
Clinical Experience / Skills
- CVICU experience with fresh open hearts such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
- Experience with post-op open heart recovery
- Experience with Swan, FloTrac, temporary pacers, arterial lines, and chest tubes
- Experience with devices such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT using Prismax, or experience with fresh heart cases
Schedule / Assignment Expectations
- Every other weekend and holiday required, as applicable
- Floating required to all ICUs, PACU, ED for ICU holding patients, and all IMC units
Additional Notes
- May consider SICU experience with initial training in a CVICU
- No prior travel experience requirement was stated
