Med Surg RN
Location
- Galesburg, Illinois
Assignment Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts
- Day shift
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- May require holidays depending on schedule
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS certification from AHA
- Negative drug screen required for submission
Unit Details
- 37-bed Med Surg unit
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratios:
- Days: 1:4-6
- Nights: 1:5-6
- Telemetry patients are accepted and monitored centrally
- No vents on the unit
- BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow patients are seen
- Charge nurse support is usually available 24/7
- CNA support is 1:10-15
- No call requirement
- May float to another floor if competent
- Floor orientation includes 2 days in the department and 1 day of hospital/EMR orientation
Patient Population
- COPD
- Sepsis
- CVA
- COVID
- Pneumonia
- Surgical patients, including hips, knees, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and bowel resections
Submission Requirements
- Last four digits of SSN
- Middle initial
- Requested time off
