Step Down Registered Nurse

Location

  • Charlottesville, Virginia

Assignment Details

  • Travel/contract position
  • 13 weeks
  • Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–07:00
  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Can approve 40 hours for time off

Unit Overview

  • 12-bed intermediate-level unit using critical care and neuroscience principles
  • Common patient populations include neuro ICU transfers, neuro trauma, intracranial hemorrhage, ENT cancer post-op tumor resection and flap reconstruction, post-op spine patients, and other neurological conditions
  • Patient ratio: 1:3

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Stepdown experience within the last year
  • 1 year of stepdown experience
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience with Epic
