Telemetry

Overview

Travel/contract RN role in Newport News, Virginia
13-week assignment
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
36 hours per week
Cardiovascular telemetry unit with overflow coverage
Locals are allowed at the same rate

Schedule

Flexible scheduling is preferred
Every other weekend is required, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights
May be scheduled to work holidays during the assignment

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Telemetry (1 year of experience)
Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network or American Safety and Health Institute
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network or American Safety and Health Institute
NIHSS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with Epic

TB questionnaire required and must be updated annually
Physical exam within the last 12 months
Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation

Dress code, safety brochure, drug-free policy, scrub colors, fingernail guidelines, and hand washing hygiene policy must be reviewed

Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
Core competency testing and medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
Stroke education CEUs required for RNs at acute care hospitals and must be updated annually
NIH Stroke Certification required for all inpatient RNs and must be updated annually
