Description
Medical Surgical RN
Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in Springfield, Illinois
- Night shift: 3x12 or 4x12, 18:45–07:15
- May be asked to work charge as needed
- May float to other medical-surgical units
- Every other weekend required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Locals accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management
- Renal failure management
- Blood Product Administration
- Central line blood draw
- PICC line management
- Starting IVs
- Heparin administration
- Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac) management
- CPAP/BiPAP operation
- Experience with Cerner
- Experience with telemetry remote monitoring and rapid response teams
- Experience with blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs
- Experience with chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, and portable oxygen tanks
- Experience with isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac
Schedule Notes
- On-call not required
- Block scheduling will be considered but is not guaranteed
- Requested time off should ideally be no more than 5 days
