ER Nurse
Overview
- Travel contract in Long Beach, California
- 13 weeks
- 12-hour day shifts
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Active CA RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- 2 full years of experience
- Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays
Preferred Experience
- 3-5 years of previous ED experience
Unit Details
- ER
- Fast track: 5 beds
- 26 trauma bays
- 40-160 patients per day
- 3:1 and 4:1 ratios
- Cerner FirstNet
- Charge nurse available with no patient assignment
- No monitor techs; RN must read and interpret own strips
- Vents: yes
- RT 24/7
- Pharmacy 24/7
- Every other weekend
- Holidays rotate with core staff
- No floating

- STEMI receiving center
- CVA receiving center
- Level 2 trauma center
- Adults and pediatrics
- Minor complaints to trauma
- Low socioeconomic status and homeless populations
- Frequent drug abuse cases
