MS/Tele Onc RN

Overview

• Travel contract for an experienced MS/Tele Onc RN
• Location: Tacoma, Washington
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours
• Hours per week: 36

Unit

• MedSurg Oncology
• 28 beds
• Ratios: 1:4-5
• Full telemetry with central monitoring
• Floating is within the Med Surg/Tele service line

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS
• WA license
• 2 full years of experience
• Oncology experience
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam during onboarding

Preferred Qualifications

• Chemo certification through an ONS provider card

Clinical Responsibilities / Patient Care

• Oncology and general med surg patient mix
• Hospice inpatient program also housed on the unit
• May titrate Heparin and Cardizem drips, and may see other cardiac drips
• Nurses perform nebulizers, breathing treatments, and trach suctioning
• Accessing and changing central lines and ports is relevant to the role

Scheduling

• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• No call or standby requirement

Additional Notes

• Pending license is needed to submit
• Temp license takes approximately 4 weeks
• First shift includes Epic class, with possible testing out for inpatient staff
• 1–2 days with a preceptor, maximum 2 days
• Travelers may be required to float throughout Region Two if needed
