Overview

• Role: IMC/Tele RN - 3N Cardiac/Tele/Dialysis
• Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week
• Department: 3N MS/IMC RN
• Beds: 29

Required Qualifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment
• Experience with post procedural cath lab patients
• Experience managing TR band compression devices
• Experience managing chest pain
• Experience with post cardiac surgical patients
• Must have previously worked for Marshfield, with an end date at least 6 months before submission if applicable

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 on days through 2300; 1:5-6 on nights after 2300
• Common patient types include cardiac medical and surgical patients, including post cath lab cases and post cardiac surgery
• Common diagnoses/procedures include stent, pacemaker, ICD, watchman, mitral clip, TAVR, CABG, valve replacements, Afib, CHF, arrhythmias, syncope, bradycardia, and temporary pacemaker
• RN titration of drips is required; there are no vasopressors
• Common drips include nitroglycerin, heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, Bumex, and dobutamine
• A 24/7 central telemetry unit monitors all non-critical care patients and does the strips
• Charge RN takes a modified assignment
• Nurse aide support is available
• RT is available 24/7 and assists with nebulizers, inhalers, CPAP, BiPAP, and Vapotherm; RNs are responsible for incentive spirometry

Scheduling and Logistics

• No self-scheduling
• Block scheduling may be available if it meets unit needs, but is not guaranteed
• Fri/Sat/Sun option is available
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No call or standby unless it is an extra shift
• Floating as needed based on unit census
• No scrubs provided; no scrub color specified
• Orientation includes 1 shift of HR onboarding and 1 shift on the unit
• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local rate candidates
• Can also do 36 hours
