Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Roanoke, Virginia

Work Schedule

• 3 shifts per week
• 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)

Unit Details

• General surgical PCU unit
• Patient ratio approximately 1:5
• Floating required to other PCU units and possibly Med Surg

Requirements & Preferences

• Travel nursing experience preferred
• EPIC experience required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), TCAR, or TCRN preferred
• Licensure: Valid RN license for Virginia
• Compact license holders must complete Residency Declaration Form
• Background check, drug screening, and health documents required (see below)

Documentation & Compliance

• I9 or attestation required
• Driver’s License/State ID required within 48 hours of signing (must be within 100 miles of facility)
• E-Verify or attestation required
• Primary source verification of state license and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
• Pre-start education modules (approx. 7.5 hours) required for inpatient RN candidates, to be completed before start date
• Professional photo for badge required (no selfies or filters)
• Fit testing for masks required within 1 year and updated annually (not required for students)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (with exemptions allowed)
• 7-year background check required within 1 year of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Two clinical references required
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Transcript or diploma required for ER/PCU/TCU and Behavioral Health roles
• Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be prepared to float as needed within PCU and Med Surg units
• Radiation badges for this facility are supplied by the client, not the agency
• Compliance with HIPAA and facility-specific policies mandatory
• Orientation manual review required prior to start (not required for inpatient RNs at all locations)
• Fit testing can be arranged onsite if necessary

This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with PCU background and EPIC system proficiency, looking for a 13-week contract in a reputable hospital system in Virginia.
