Cardiac Cath Lab Tech - Travel Position
Location: Methodist Hospital, San Antonio, Texas
Hospital System: HCA Healthcare (Parent)
Employment Type: Travel
Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information
- Unit: Cath Lab (746)
- Shift Details:
- 8-hour mixed shifts (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM / 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM) as needed
- Weekend shifts to be discussed during interview
- On-call requirement: 10 days per month (includes 1 full weekend)
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week
- Floating Policy: All travelers are required to float as needed within the hospital.
Required Experience & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required.
- Certifications:
- BLS/ACLS required
- CATH TECHs must be RCIS/ARRT certified
- RN and CVT candidates must have 5+ years experience in Diagnostic Cardiac Cath/PCI/STEMI
- Licensing:
- Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses no longer accepted)
Preferred Skills
- Cath RN: 5+ years Cath Lab experience preferred
- Cath CVT/RCIS: RCIS certification with 5+ years experience preferred
- Experience with Pediatric (congenital heart) cases is a plus
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization
- PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention)
- Structural Heart Procedures including TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) and TMVR (Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement)
Documentation System
- Meditech
Dress Code & Appearance Guidelines
- Scrubs provided by the department
- Nails must be clean and healthy
- Hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors
- Facial hair (beards, mustaches, sideburns) must be clean and neatly trimmed
- Tattoos should be covered whenever possible; uncovered tattoos will be addressed individually
- Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
Additional Unit Policies
- Floating guidelines apply
- Attendance policies must be followed
- Methodist Acknowledgement Form required
This position is ideal for experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technologists or RNs with strong skills in diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures, who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment with floating responsibilities.
