Description
Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Facility: Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital
Hospital System: Carilion Clinic
Unit: 8 South Radius PCU (Hospitalist Unit, General Medicine PCU)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Patient Ratio: 1:5
Requirements
- Licensure: Virginia RN license or compact license required
- Experience: Epic electronic health record experience required
- Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA only)
- BLS (AHA only)
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI, etc.)
- Training:
- Pre-Start Education Modules (approx. 7.5 hours) required for inpatient RNs, to be completed before start date
- Other:
- Physical exam within 1 year, free from communicable diseases
- Fit test within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (9/1 - 4/1) with exemptions allowed
- Background check (7 years) within 1 year of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Two clinical references required
- Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
- Photo for badge (professional, plain background)
Important Notes
- All Return to Office (RTO) requests must be submitted upfront with application
- Driver’s License/State ID with a local address (within 100 miles of facility) required within 48 hours of signing
- Facility-specific documents and compliance forms must be completed prior to start
- Candidates must complete the Carilion Contract Staff Orientation Manual review (not required for inpatient RNs)
- VA State Police Search completed onsite on first day for certain departments
- HIPAA training and acknowledgment required
- Medication and competency exams required as applicable by specialty
- Radiation badges are no longer provided by Aya for new candidates; facility will supply if needed
This position is ideal for RNs with hospitalist or general medicine PCU experience who are comfortable working night shifts and have the required certifications and licensure for Virginia.
