Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Facility: Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJC HealthCare)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 4x10 hour nights (2100-0730)
  • Caseload: Daily caseload per tech (not specified)
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs (no floating to sister facilities)
  • Local Radius Rule: 75 miles (locals not accepted)
  • Pending State License: Not accepted
  • Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days within 13-week contract
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week

Required Credentials & Certifications

  • ARRT CT certification (must have at time of submittal)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI, and other certifications may be required depending on unit
  • State license verification and NURSYS verification required for Missouri
  • IV Certification required for LPN/LVN if applicable
  • Background check within 6 months required
  • Drug testing within 1 year required (must include specific panels)
  • Physical exam within 1 year required
  • Fit mask testing required (annual renewal)
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tdap (or Td for renewal)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray documentation
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Flu vaccination or approved exemption (seasonal requirement)
  • Other facility-specific compliance documents and trainings (HIPAA, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, etc.) must be completed prior to start

Skills & Experience Requirements

  • Work Setting Experience Required: Outpatient and inpatient
  • Preferred Work Settings: Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital, Community Hospital, Adult ICU
  • General Skills Required: PACS, use of contrast agents
  • Preferred Skills: IV starts, portable imaging, biopsies
  • CT Procedure Experience Required:
    • Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Chest, Spine, Musculoskeletal
    • CT Angiography (CTAs), Multiplanar reconstruction
  • Preferred CT Procedures:
    • Aspirations/Biopsies, Brain perfusion, Colonography, CT Arthrography, Drainage, Myelography, Transplant studies
  • Equipment: All Siemens scanners (experience preferred)
  • Facility Type: Level 1 trauma center, short-term acute care, teaching hospital with high complexity cases

    • Night shift parking free in employee lots
    • Day/night rotation requires paid parking pass (~$70/month)
    • Orientation parking available at Laclede Garage ($15, not reimbursed)

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must comply with all BJC HealthCare policies and complete required documentation and training prior to start.
  • Floating within the facility is expected as needed.
  • This is a travel/contract position with a 13-week assignment length.
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel role.

This position is ideal for CT Technologists with Siemens scanner experience and Level 1 trauma or large hospital setting background seeking a travel contract opportunity in a high-acuity environment.
