Travel RN Opportunity – Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP)

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Facility: CJW Medical Center (HCA Healthcare)
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Unit: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
• Number of Beds: 11 Labor Beds, 2 Triage, 2 OR
• Patient Ratios:

  • 1:1 for laboring patients
  • 3:1 for couplets (mother and baby)
• Staffing: Includes unit secretaries, birth registrars, and surgical OR techs
• Equipment: Monica wireless fetal monitoring, GE fetal monitoring
• Documentation System: Meditech/CPN
• Scheduling: Every 3rd weekend required
• Floating Policy: Float to sister facility LD/PP units
• Patient Experience: Bedside report and safety rounding practiced

Required Skills & Certifications

• Must Have:

  • Fetal monitor interpretation
  • High-risk antepartum care
  • Active labor management
  • C-section circulation
  • Postpartum care
  • Circumcision assist procedures
  • Bili light care
  • Lab draws from mother and baby
  • Magnesium administration for pre-eclamptic patients
• Advanced Skills:

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certifications Required:

  • Fetal Monitor Certification
• Procedures Performed on Unit:

  • C-section
  • Circumcision
  • Vaginal deliveries
  • Antepartum testing
  • Ultrasounds
