Travel/Contract Therapy/Rehabilitation Position

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Facility: Piedmont Fayette Hospital
Hospital System: Piedmont Healthcare


Job Requirements & Details

  • License: Must have Georgia state license in hand at time of submission.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years required; first-time travelers accepted.
  • Unit Diagnoses: Includes arthritis, fractures, stroke, cancer, pneumonia, sepsis, respiratory failure, renal disease, heart failure, colon surgery, and more.
  • Schedule:
    • Weekend shifts initially required approximately 6 weeks (Sun, Mon, Fri, Sat)
    • Then one weekend day every other weekend
  • Call: None
  • Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Contract Length: 10 weeks
  • Holidays: Travelers expected to work major holidays if they fall during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
  • Orientation: Bi-weekly orientation; full compliance required to start on time or assignment start will be delayed by 2 weeks
  • Locals: Accepted at same rate

Certifications & Competencies Required

  • Licenses & Certifications:

    • Georgia State License verification within 30 days prior to start (required for CRTs & RRTs)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for RNs/RRTs/CRTs in specific specialties
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required except for Microbiology and Med Techs
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required for RNs in PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - Online course required within a few months of hire (no re-certification required)
    • NIH Stroke Certification - Check specialty requirements
    • CEUs - Required for Mammography techs (15 CEUs in last 3 years)
    • Tech Cert Verification - Allied annual license verification if applicable
    • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) annually within 30 days prior to start
  • Competency Exams:

    • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs and LVNs by Aya)
    • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates; alternative assessment available for lab work)
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry, ICU, ER, Cardiac step-down, etc.; max 3 attempts allowed)
    • General Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied by Aya)

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
  • TB Testing: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually
  • Vaccinations:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters may be required
    • Hepatitis B: Series, antibody titer, or signed declination
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters may be required
    • Flu Vaccine: Required or declination for 2024-25 season
    • COVID Vaccine: Required or declination for 2024-25 season
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
  • Background Check: Required within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, education verification, and more
  • References: Two clinical references required by Aya
  • Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
  • Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process

Facility Specific Documents & Policies

  • Code of Conduct and Acknowledgement - must review and sign prior to start
  • Dress and Professional Appearance Policy - must review
  • Mammography techs require additional certifications and documentation (Mammo Training, 3D Mammography, Digital Cert, documentation of 200 mammography exams in last 2 years)
  • Delineation of Privileges required only for CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant and RNFA specialties

Additional Notes

  • Manager review of candidate profile and schedule fit within 48 hours of confirmation
  • Maximum 7-day Return to Office (RTO) guideline
  • Compliance with all requirements is mandatory to avoid delays in start date
