Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Fishersville, Virginia
Facility: Augusta Health (Augusta Health - MSP)
Type: Acute Care Hospital
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- First-timers: Not accepted
- Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts
- On-call: Required 1-2 nights per week and every other 3rd or 4th weekend with a response time of 30 minutes or less
- Floating: Clinician will float within scope between Cath Lab and Prep and Recovery areas
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (Permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Special Requirements: Experience in Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, Pre/Post Procedure care
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC only (Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable)
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only (Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, CPI) — check unit details if applicable

- Charting System: Meditech
- Scrub Color: Black or Caribbean blue
- Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Valid Virginia or Compact State Nursing License (no pending licenses accepted)
- Background Check: 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM checks within 30 days of start
- 2 Professional References
- Current Employment Application/Resume
- Skills Checklist (updated annually)
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (renew annually)
- Fit Mask Test (N95 preferred, updated annually)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tdap (within past 10 years)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year) and annual TB questionnaire
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug test including marijuana within 30 days of start (zero tolerance for THC)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Notes
- Candidates must be able to respond to on-call duties within 30 minutes.
- Floating between Cath Lab and Prep/Recovery areas is expected.
- Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel contract.
- Drug screening includes a zero-tolerance policy for THC, regardless of medical marijuana card status.
- Fit testing for masks is required annually; onsite testing available.
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption is mandatory during flu season.
