Job Opportunity: IR Tech (Interventional Radiology Technologist)
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Facility: Missouri Baptist Medical Center (BJC HealthCare)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Schedule:
- Primary: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:30 - 19:00)
- Alternate: 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each (06:30 - 15:00)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Yes, multiple options available (discuss during interview)
- Floating: Within service line and scope to meet facility needs; no floating to sister facilities
- Locals Accepted: No (must be outside 75-mile radius)
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: 7 days per 13-week contract
Role Description
- Work in a hybrid OR room located in CT OR with a heart surgeon for hybrid cases (not cath lab or IR lab)
- Must have advanced modality skills: scrub, hand wires during cases, run the table, and layer 3D images
- Experience with EVAR (Endovascular Aneurysm Repair) and TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement) procedures required
- Must have hybrid OR experience; cath lab/IR experience helpful but not primary focus
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years required; first-timers not accepted
- Certifications:
- Required: BLS, IEMA, AART or CCI
- Preferred: ACLS
- Licensing:
- Pending Missouri state license accepted

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Professional license primary source verification (Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS)
- Background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, sex offender, and international if applicable)
- Drug testing within 1 year, including specific panels (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tdap (or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray (with yearly questionnaire)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
- Flu vaccination or exemption (required by deadlines)
- Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) annually
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Various facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, hand hygiene, dress code, and latex allergy questionnaire
- Competency exams and unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
- Employment application and references (2 professional references required)

- Candidates must adhere to fingernail, dress code, and hand hygiene policies or risk being sent home
- Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
- No block scheduling accommodations available
- Must be able to work hybrid OR cases with CT surgeons, not cath lab or IR lab cases
This position is ideal for experienced IR Techs with hybrid OR expertise looking for a travel contract in a large acute care hospital setting with advanced cardiovascular procedures.
