Job Opportunity: RN Critical Care (Travel)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Facility: Cleveland Medical Center, University Hospitals


Unit Description

  • 20-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in an Academic Medical Center
  • Patient population includes STEMI, post-arrest, shock, pulmonary embolism, aortic aneurysm, post catheterization interventional cardiology, and Swan-Ganz catheter hemodynamic monitoring
  • AACN Gold Beacon Award-winning unit at a Magnet Recognized hospital

Contract Details

  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (American Heart Association only)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association only)
  • Valid permanent RN license (Temporary licenses NOT accepted; primary source verification required within 30 days of start and updated upon expiration)

Required Health & Safety Credentials

  • MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
  • Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
  • Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with declination, or positive titers within 15 years
  • Tdap: Proof of vaccination within past 10 years (declinations not accepted)
  • 2-Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Negative results within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest x-ray and current TB questionnaire required
  • Fit Test: Completed within 1 year of start (specific approved respirators)
  • Physical/Health Statement: Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year stating ability to work without restrictions
  • Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (instant screens not accepted)
  • Influenza Vaccine: Preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions require approval

Professional & Employment Verification

  • UHS I-9 Attestation: Proof of eligibility to work
  • Ohio Fingerprints: Ohio BCI&I check and FCRA-compliant national criminal background check (FBI fingerprint check if less than 5 years residency)
  • Criminal Background Check: Within 6 months of start, including SSN trace and county searches for last 7 years
  • OIG Search: Within 6 months of start
  • SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC Checks: Within 6 months of start
  • Education Verification: Highest level of education verified; international equivalency required if applicable
  • Employment Verification: Verification of employment within last 5 years through third-party
  • Competency Exam: Department-specific exam with minimum 80% score, completed within 1 year prior to start
  • Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; 80% passing score required, completed within 1 year prior to start
  • Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within 1 year prior to start (submission required)
  • Badge Photo: Professional headshot required
