Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Facility: Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center
Hospital System: Piedmont Healthcare
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
- Minimum Experience: 1 year (first-time travelers accepted)
- Call Requirements:
- 1-2 weekdays and every third weekend (Friday-Sunday)
- Weekend call included
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Holiday Work:
- Expected to work if 1 major holiday falls during assignment
- If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
- Major Holidays Include:
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
- New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day
- Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to orientation schedule
- Locals Accepted: Yes, at the same rate
Required Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs, RRTs, CRTs in relevant specialties
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required except for Microbiology Techs and Med Techs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no re-certification)
- State License: Must be valid and verified within 30 days prior to start (Georgia license required for CRTs & RRTs)
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days prior to start
- NIH Stroke Certification: If required, must be completed yearly
- Tech Cert Verification: Allied annual license verification within 30 days prior to start (if applicable)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs and LVNs by Aya only
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available for lab work
- Competency Exam: Required for Nursing and Allied by Aya only
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Telemetry, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, ICU, PCU; max 3 attempts allowed
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Review and sign Piedmont Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
- Delineation of Privileges required only for CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant and RNFA specialties
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; TB Questionnaire required annually
- Vaccinations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Flu Vaccine (2024-25): Required or declination; strongly encouraged during flu season
- COVID Vaccine (2024-25): Required or declination; strongly encouraged by October 31
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable under certain conditions
Background & History Checks
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, education verification, and FACIS 3
- Cannot start with background pending
- Two clinical references required by Aya
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Verification of most recent employer required (can be pending at start with proof running)
- Education verification required (can be pending at start with proof running); diplomas required for RRTs
