Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Facility: Missouri Baptist Medical Center (BJC HealthCare)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts (40 hours/week)
  • Ratio: 3:1
  • Types of Cases: Scrub/Monitor cardiac diagnostic & PCI; preference for experience in structural heart
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes
  • On-Call Requirements: Up to 2 days per week and every other weekend on call
  • Floating: Yes, within service line and scope (no floating to sister facilities)
  • Locals Accepted: No (must be outside 75-mile radius)
  • Pending State License Accepted: Yes
  • Return to Office Restrictions: 7 days per 13-week contract

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only
  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) certification may be required for some allied positions (confirm if applicable)
  • State License: Primary source verification required; Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA or AAP (if applicable)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA only (if applicable)
  • IV Certification: Required for LPN/LVNs with Missouri license
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI): Required if applicable
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM), NIH Stroke Certification: Required if applicable
  • Other Certifications: May be required based on unit (e.g., MANDT for Behavioral Health)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Background Check: 7-year criminal background check within 6 months of start, including statewide and nationwide searches
  • Drug Testing: Required within 1 year of start; must include a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP)
  • Immunizations & Health Screenings:
    • Tdap vaccine or declination (every 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Proof of immunity or vaccination required; no exemptions for certain units (e.g., Neonatal ICU)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption required annually
    • Hepatitis B declination form required (vaccination not mandatory)
  • Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start
  • Fit Mask Testing: Annual fit test required; must be able to wear N95 masks properly
  • Employment Application: Must be completed and uploaded
  • Skills Checklist: Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
  • References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
  • Other Facility-Specific Documents:
    • HIPAA Acknowledgement
    • Latex Allergy Questionnaire
    • Confidentiality Form
    • Regulatory Compliance Education (annual training and quiz)
