Description
Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Facility: Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center
Hospital System: Novant Health Crisis Response
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Weekend shifts only (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
Shift Hours: 12-hour nights, 7:45 PM - 8:15 AM

Job Description
- Work in a very fast-paced Emergency Department using Siemens and GE scanners (Siemens S3000 and Sequoia models).
- Perform routine ED patient scans, including Code Stroke and some trauma patients.
- Typical caseload: 150-200 scans daily across 4 rooms.
- Weekend staffing: 2 techs; typical 8-hour shift caseload per tech is 8-12 patients.
- Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed; no weekend RTO permitted.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Experience with inpatient, ER, and adult ICU settings.
- Mandatory experience with GE & Siemens scanners (do not apply if no Siemens experience).
- CT procedure experience including: abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion, CT angiography (CTAs), multiplanar reconstruction.
- Some trauma experience preferred.
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT(R)(CT) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography and CT)
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Outpatient experience.
- IV starts.
- PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
- Contrast administration.
- Experience with Visage imaging software.
Unit Details
- Located in the Emergency Department.
- Fast-paced environment with multiple techs on shift.
- Use of EPIC and Visage systems.
- Scrubs color: Royal Blue.
Patient Diagnoses
- Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics.
Special Procedures
- Routine ED scans.
- Code Stroke protocols.
- Trauma imaging.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Candidates must provide and maintain the following (as applicable):
- Valid professional licenses and certifications (BLS, ARRT(R)(CT), etc.).
- Background check within 6 months.
- Drug screening (9-panel, within 6 months).
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella titers or vaccinations.
- Hepatitis B status or declination form.
- Varicella immunity.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption.
- COVID-19 vaccination no longer required for travel assignments.
- Required training and acknowledgments:
- HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement.
- Radiation Badge (if applicable).
- Novant Health hospital policies and orientation forms.
- Emergency Contact Form.
- E-Verify and other compliance forms.
- Photo for badge (passport style, solid white background, business attire).
- Completion of Novant-specific orientation and education modules prior to start.
- Color Blind Testing within 1 year.
- Competency exams as required (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG for RNs if applicable).
Additional Notes
- No call or float requirements.
- Weekend schedule only (Friday-Sunday).
- Interview required prior to offer.
- 36 hours per weekend can be offered.
- Unit is very fast-paced; teamwork and efficiency are essential.
- Candidates must be prepared to work exclusively on the weekend night shift.
- Strict no RTO policy on weekends.
This position is ideal for radiology technologists with strong Siemens CT experience looking for a weekend travel contract in a high-acuity emergency department setting.
