Travel RN Opportunity – Telemetry/Progressive Care

Location: Danville Regional Medical Center – Sovah Health, Danville, VA
Facility: 250-bed Academic Community Hospital serving the region for over 120 years
Unit: 6A Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
Weekend Hours: As needed
Call Requirements: As needed

• Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios:

  • PCU: 1:4
  • Telemetry: 1:6
  • Blended: 1:5 (experience required)
• EHR System: Meditech
• Patient Population: All ages
• Float Requirements: May float to Med/Surg and ICU within 25-mile radius

Position Requirements

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry/Progressive Care specialty
• Experience: 1-2 years required; 2+ years Med/Surg preferred
• Certifications Required (prior to start):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • HWC (Health and Wellness Certification)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
• Licensure: Must hold valid RN license to practice in Virginia
• Drug Screening: Random drug screens required on site
• Criminal Background: Must complete Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form

Work Environment & Culture

• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; no casual wear
• Personality Fit: Must be comfortable working with telemetry and progressive care patients, adaptable to float assignments, and able to manage complex cardiac and medical cases

Additional Notes

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Candidates must live 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
