Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (SSDU RN)

Location: Rochester, New York
Facility: Rochester General Hospital, The NeuroMedical Center
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
Start Date: September 2, 2025
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Candidate Requirements:

• Must have a valid New York RN license in hand
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
• First-time travelers are accepted

Required Certifications & Licenses

• NY State RN License (Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start)
• ACLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable)
• BLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable)
• PALS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI acceptable)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) as required by unit
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) as required by unit
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) as required by unit
• NIH Stroke Certification (annual update as required)
• HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP within 30 days of start)
• Tech Cert Verification (if required within 30 days of start)

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as required)
• Color Blind Testing (one-time requirement)
• Competency Exam (as required by specialty)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Clear, passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of Rochester Regional Orientation Modules (approx. 4-6 hours) prior to start
• Completion of Pre-Employment Compliance and Health Records Attestations
• New Hire Form

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical Exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit Mask Test (annual; specific mask types accepted)
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year) or TB Questionnaire annually
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series completion, or declination)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccines, or documented history)
• Drug Testing (within 30 days of start; includes multiple substances)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
• Eye Exam (Snellen test within 1 year)
• COVID-19 Vaccination documentation preferred but not required

Background & Employment Verification

• 7-year Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, national criminal, sex offender checks) within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM checks (within 3 months and monthly thereafter)
• HHS/OIG checks (within 3 months and monthly thereafter)
• Minimum of 2 employment references
• Employment Application required
• Annual Skills Checklist
• Education Verification (third-party academic verification required)
• Work History Verification (at least 2 past employments verified)
• Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation if applicable
• Transcript/Diploma if no education verification on file

State-Specific Requirements (New York)

• NYS Nurse Aide Registry (if applicable, within 3 months)
• NYS Criminal Background Check Fingerprint Results (for certain units)
• Disciplinary Action Search Results (for certain units)
• NY Sex Offender Registry Search (within 30 days of start)
• NY Medicaid Exclusion List check (within 3 months and monthly)
