Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department, Asheville, North Carolina

Position Overview

Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED)
Location: Asheville, NC
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

Unit: Emergency Department
Number of Beds: 101
Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 (medical), up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
Staffing: Techs available for cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks on days and nights
Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
Documentation System: Cerner
Scheduling: Every other weekend required; no block scheduling; schedule must meet department needs
Floating Policy: No floating outside the ED; must float within all ED sections
Dress Code: Navy scrubs required

Required Certifications (Must have before start date)

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – within 90 days of hire

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years experience as a nurse
At least 1 year experience in an Emergency Room setting
2 years experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center with a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
Previous experience with HCA Healthcare preferred
Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
