Travel RN - Med/Surg/Ortho

Location: Aurora, Colorado

Unit Information

• Unit: Medical/Surgical/Orthopedics (Unit 632)
• Facility Size: 345 beds
• Staff: Float pool of about 80 staff members
• Shifts:

  • Day Shift: RNs and CNAs on most units
  • Night Shift: RNs and CNAs on most units
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5 (varies by unit and shift)
• Equipment: Various medical equipment
• EMR System: Meditech

Typical Patient Population & Work Environment

• Large cardiac population with two telemetry floors and a progressive care unit (PCU)
• Floating required to inpatient Med/Tele and Rehab units
• Family-oriented work environment where teamwork and mutual care are emphasized

Required Skills & Certifications

• Must Have:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • Minimum 2 years of strong telemetry experience
• Preferred:

  • Chemo Certification (for potential scheduling on Oncology unit)

Typical Procedures & Responsibilities

• Varies between units, including care for acute and chronic medical issues
• Floating to multiple inpatient units including Med/Tele and Rehab

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Licensure

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse License in Colorado
