Diagnostic Imaging - CT Technologist (Contract)

Job Description

• Perform computed tomography (CT) procedures and related imaging techniques.
• Administer x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
• May be required to work alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, and take call. Flexibility for overtime and schedule changes to ensure quality patient care.
• Perform diagnostic CT procedures; if assigned, also perform radiographic, fluoroscopic, surgical, and portable radiographic exams.
• Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure and ensure documentation is available for radiologist use.
• Prepare patients for procedures by providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
• Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories.
• Position and immobilize patients as necessary, respecting patient comfort and ability.
• Practice aseptic technique as needed.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and maintain intravenous access as appropriate.
• Initiate basic life support actions when necessary.
• Provide patient education and assist with patient safety during procedures and transport.
• Provide input on supply and equipment needs; maintain inventory control.
• Offer practical instruction to students and partners.
• Follow universal protocol, standard precautions, and use appropriate patient identifiers.

Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
• Minimum 2 years of CT experience required.

Certification and Licensure

• ARRT Radiography registration required.
• ARRT Computed Tomography registration required.
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required.
• Approved CPR or BLS certification required.
