Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- Department: Emergency Department (ED)
- Unit Size: 101 beds
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
- Staffing: Techs available; work includes cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks (days and nights)
- Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling: Every other weekend; no block scheduling; must meet department needs
- Floating Policy: No floating outside ED; must float within all ED sections
- Patient Experience: AIDET communication, respectful behavior, ongoing patient updates
Required Certifications (Must have before start date)
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- TNCC
- CPI
- NIHSS
- ENPC (within 90 days of hire)
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Department
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years as a nurse, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Additional Experience: 2 years’ experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center with a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
- Preferred: Previous experience with HCA Healthcare system
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
