Unit Information

Unit: Cardiovascular Telemetry (CVT)
Number of Beds: 22
Staffing: Budgeted for 4 CNC, 24 Nurses, 12 PCTs, and 2 Unit Secretaries
Current staffing includes 2 CNCs, 24 Nurses (including orientation), 7 PCTs + 2 Contract PCTs, 0 Unit Secretary
Shift: Day/Night
Typical staffing per shift: 1 CNC, 4-5 Nurses (depending on patient need), 2 PCTs, 1 Unit Secretary
Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6
Equipment: Welch Allyn Vital Signs Machine, Dash Bedside Monitor, Telemetry, BiPAP
EMR System: Meditech

Required Skills

Experience administering and monitoring IV cardiac drips (e.g., Diltiazem, Amiodarone)
Basic ECG rhythm interpretation
Management of Continuous BiPAP
Post Cardiac Catheterization/Stent implant management

Preferred Skills

Acute Cardiac Care

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty (RN)
Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
Floating Areas: Intermediate Medical Unit (IMU) and any med/surg telemetry units
Dress Code: Royal Blue Scrubs
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule, no on-call duties
