Description

Travel RN Opportunity – Med Surg / Telemetry / PCU Float Pool

Location: Prescott, Arizona


Unit & Patient Population

  • Unit: Telemetry - Cardiac/Medical, 3rd Floor
  • Beds: 49
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Common Diagnoses: CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, GI, diabetes, telemetry patients, post cardiac catheterization, total joint replacement
  • Patient Care: Includes some CVA and TIA cases
  • Equipment Used: BiPAP, CPAP, breathing treatments
  • Drip Management: No RN titration required; Diltiazem/Cardizem drips at set rates

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Current state RN license required
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience
  • Minimum 1 year PCU experience
  • Must pass dysrhythmia exam with at least 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing
  • Experience reading basic telemetry strips and interpreting cardiac rhythms required
  • Cerner experience recommended (only one day of orientation)
  • Candidates must not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN within the past year at any CommonSpirit-associated facility (including CHI or Dignity) within 50 miles

Orientation & Training

  • One shift of unit-specific orientation
  • Orientation includes exposure to evenings, nights, and floating

Scheduling & Shifts

  • Shift Hours: 7 AM – 7 PM
  • Scheduling: 4-week schedules with self-scheduling; final schedule approved by manager
  • Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
  • Holiday Requirement: Work 2 days and an evening or 2 evenings and a day during Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and Thanksgiving Day
  • No call or standby required

Floating & Additional Duties

  • Floating required; may float to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
  • RN’s required to interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift
  • Charge Nurse and House Supervisor available on unit
  • Nurse Aides present with ratio approximately 1:10-15

Dress Code

  • Scrubs: Navy Blue

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

This position offers a unique travel opportunity for experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RNs with PCU experience who meet the certification and experience requirements.
