Registered Nurse - Cath Lab (Travel/Contract)
Location: Canton, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (07:30 - 18:00)
- On-Call:
- Every other weekend or every third weekend depending on staffing
- If not on weekend call, approximately 2 call days per week
- If on weekend call, 1 additional call day that week
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 18 months recent permanent Cath Lab experience prior to travel
- Experience in circulating and documenting
- Licensing:
- Must have permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand
- Certifications:
- AHA BLS & ACLS required
- Must have Epic experience
- Testing:
- ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate test during orientation (passing score required)
- Holiday Work:
- Must work at least every other holiday
Required Documents & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID) required and must be carried on assignment
- Background checks including:
- FCRA compliant 7-year search (SSN Trace, Counties, States, Nationwide, Sex Offender, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks monthly
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting within 12 months, updated annually (must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing)
- Education verification required for all candidates
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including eye exam and color-blind testing (for new candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
- Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination
- Varicella vaccinations or positive titer with booster if needed
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
- Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)
Certifications & Training
- ACLS (AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI acceptable)
- BLS (AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI acceptable)
- PALS preferred but not required
- TNCC preferred but not required
- CNOR preferred but not required
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
- Pass/Fail ECG & Medication testing during orientation (SafeMedicate)
- Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months and updated annually
- Epic experience required
Employment History & References
- Employment application must include at least 3 years prior work history with 2 years clinical practice in acute care in a similar area
- Two professional references required from employment within one year of start (Manager, ANM, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director)
- For return candidates with a gap of 30+ days, references on file will be audited for compliance
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of online onboarding and training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
- Photo for badge required (headshot, shoulders up, white background)
- Completion of SafeMedicate prep materials prior to orientation
- Must complete facility-specific security access forms prior to start
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared to complete all required documentation and certifications prior to start
- Fingerprinting must be completed both through the agency and at the facility
- Candidates with gaps in employment longer than 40 days may need to update physical exam, immunizations, and other health documents
- Candidates must comply with all facility and system policies regarding health, safety, and competency testing
This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs with strong documentation skills, Epic proficiency, and the ability to manage on-call responsibilities.
