Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Nashville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: January 12 (Non-negotiable)
Shift Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week
Job Description
- Position requires floating between units and facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity.
- Travelers will be notified before their scheduled shift if floating is required.
Required Credentials & Certifications
Licenses & Verification (Must be current and verified within 30 days prior to start)
- Nursing license verification via Nursys
- License/Certificate primary source verification
- Driver's License or State ID (must not be expired and must match address on file)
- Professional references (at least two)
- Resume/Profile submission
Certifications (Must be AHA approved where specified)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Certification (Group A updated yearly; Group B-F every 2 years)
Health & Immunizations (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be done onsite
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Recent testing required with annual TB questionnaire
- Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and TB questionnaire
Testing & Competencies (Must be completed and passed prior to or at onboarding)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics) with minimum 80% score, max 2 attempts
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of 80%, max 2 attempts)
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out (Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical specialty-specific, updated annually)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
Onboarding Requirements
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training)
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Ascension Nova StatStrip (pre-hire modules for non-allied positions)
- Ascension Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender registry; updated annually)
- Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start
- Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
- Ascension Employment Verification (past 7 years, updated annually)
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (provided at initial assignment and updates)
- Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters)
Optional
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (uploaded by unit leader within a week)
- Positive PPD - Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire (if applicable)
- Hiring Manager Evaluation (post-assignment)
- Legal Name Change Documentation
This position requires a highly organized and credentialed RN ICU professional ready to work in a dynamic hospital environment with floating responsibilities. Compliance with all credentialing, health, and onboarding requirements is mandatory for assignment clearance.
