Travel RN Opportunity – Labor & Delivery

Location: Reston, Virginia

Unit & Hospital Information

• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Unit Specifics:

  • 15 LDR rooms
  • 3 OB triage rooms
  • 3 Operating Rooms (ORs)
  • 4 bay Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
  • 4 antepartum rooms
  • Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• Documentation Systems: Meditech, CPNS
• Scheduling: 7 AM – 7 PM and 7 PM – 7 AM shifts (must be available to work 7 PM – 7 AM as needed)
• Floating Policy: Within women’s and children’s service line
• Patient Care Focus: Labor and delivery, circulating C-sections, IV drips such as magnesium, high acuity patients

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse License (RN)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate

Skills & Experience

• Experience working in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery unit required
• Advanced skills needed, including:

  • Scrub role and circulating in the OR (helpful but not mandatory)
• Common procedures on unit:

  • C-sections
  • Epidurals
  • Spinals
  • Cerclage
  • Version
• Note: Blood patch procedures are rarely performed and not required
