Travel RN - CVICU

Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Beds: 16
Staff: 45 RNs
Patient Ratio: 2:1 (2 patients per 1 RN)
Shift Ratios:
- Day Shift: 1 CNC and 2:1 nurse to patient ratio
- Night Shift: 1 CNC and 2:1 nurse to patient ratio
Equipment: GE monitors, EV 1000, Hemispheres, CRRT (NextStage), Impella, Swan Ganz, Art lines, Chest tubes, ventilators
EMR System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

Specialty: Critical Care (Adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, or any Critical Care specialty)
Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years critical care experience
Certifications:
- RN License
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIH Certification
Skills Required:
- Ventilator experience
- Art line, Central line, Chest tube management

Preferred Qualifications

CVICU specific experience
CABG recovery
CRRT
Impella
Meditech experience
BSN degree
CCRN certification

Typical Procedures

Hemodynamic monitoring
Swan Ganz catheter management
Arterial lines
Chest tube management

Work Schedule & Environment

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Weekend Shifts: 2 weekend shifts biweekly
On-call: None
Dress Code: Royal Blue scrubs
Floating Areas: Medical ICU, Neuro Surgical ICU, Cardiac PCU
Personality Fit: Team player who works best with collaborative care
