Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)

• Unit: Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient Population: Medically delicate and surgically complex adult patients including respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.
• Average Patient Load: 3 high acuity patients

Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Clinical Competencies:

  • Competent in care of medical and surgical populations
  • ACLS certification required
  • Advanced hemodynamics knowledge including pressor usage per titration protocols
  • Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics
  • Skilled in managing arterial lines (A-line), central venous pressure (CVP), external ventricular drains (EVD), orthopedic traction, and infection prevention protocols
  • Familiarity with HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxypendent devices
• Experience: Nurses with large scale adult PCU and community hospital ICU experience preferred
• Additional Requirements:

  • Epic electronic medical record experience is required
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Competency test required within 48 hours of submission

Schedule

• Weekend block schedule may be considered

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

This position is ideal for experienced critical care RNs comfortable with high acuity adult patients and advanced hemodynamic monitoring in a progressive critical care setting.
