Unit Information

Unit: CDU (Cardiac Diagnostic Unit), Main Hospital, 1st Floor adjacent to Same Day Surgery
Number of Beds: 10
Patient Ratios: 5:1
Staffing: 2 RNs, 1 Patient Care Technician (PCT)
Equipment: Telemetry
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: Every other weekend, 12-hour shifts
Floating Policy: May float to other like units or Emergency Department for telemetry holds
Patient Experience: Bedside shift reports and hourly safety rounding
Uniform: Navy Blue

Required Certifications and Licenses

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIH Certification
Registered Nurse License

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the specialty

Skills and Procedures

Must pass hospital telemetry test
Advanced skills in general medical/surgical telemetry procedures
Able to draw labs

Additional Information

This is a brand new unit providing 24/7 telemetry monitoring for patients
Emphasis on teamwork and patient safety with hourly rounding and bedside reporting
