Unit: 2F Med Surg (General medical surgical floor, stroke and neuro designated unit)
Number of Beds: 34 (max capacity 43 patients)
Patient Ratios: 5:1
Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 techs, 1 unit secretary (if at max capacity)
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 1 tech, 1 unit secretary (if at max capacity)
Equipment: Remote telemetry
EMR System: Meditech

Required Certifications and Licenses

BLS (Basic Life Support)
Registered Nurse License

Preferred Certifications

NIH Stroke Certification
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Experience Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in the specialty

Additional Information

Typical procedures involve general medical surgical care, stroke, and neuro patients
Ideal personality: upbeat, engaged, compassionate
Dress code: navy scrubs
The unit has received multiple Daisy awards and is stroke certified
The unit has maintained over 850 days CAUTI free
