Travel RN Opportunity - Richmond, Virginia

Position Details

Experience & Licensure Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital setting required
  • Must have an active compact nursing license at submission
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required

Unit Information

  • Unit: Medical-Surgical (PNCU)
  • Number of Beds: 18
  • Staffing:
    • 13 RNs, 5 LPNs, 25 PCTs
    • Day Shift: 1 Clinical Coordinator, 43 RNs, 2 PCTs (when census is full)
    • Night Shift: 1 Clinical Coordinator, 3 RNs, 2 PCTs (when census is full)
  • Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse
  • Equipment Used: Feeding pumps, PEG tubes, IVs, central lines, drains, EKGs
  • EMR System: Meditech

Typical Procedures

  • Assist neurologist with bedside lumbar punctures (LPs)
  • Central line dressing changes
  • Tube feedings
  • Wound care
  • Foley catheter insertion
