    Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

    Job Description

    • Collaborate with providers to ensure patients complete all necessary steps before starting radiation treatment.
    • Coordinate appointments and supplies for patients.
    • Triage side effects of treatment such as low blood pressure, pain, nausea, etc.
    • Start IVs and administer IV contrast as needed.
    • Educate patients on their treatment and expected duration.

    Required Certifications

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • California RN State License

    Preferred Certifications:

    • ONS/ONCC (Oncology Nursing Society/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation)

    Background Check Requirements

    • 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including:
      • Social Security trace with all aliases
      • County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
      • Nationwide sex offender search (within 90 days of start)
      • Education verification (highest level achieved)
      • FACIS Level 3 search within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
      • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
    • Transcript/Diploma verification as needed
    • Motor Vehicle Report if driving position (not applicable here)
    • Pending background check attestation not accepted for this facility

    Certifications & Competencies (Additional)

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – AHA/AAP only, Instructor or Advanced Provider Course
    • CCRN (Critical Care RN) – verify by position
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – valid for 4 years
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – typically for Labor & Delivery
    • IV Certification (if applicable)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – verify by position
    • NIH Stroke Certification – verify by position
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – as applicable
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – as applicable
    • Competency Exam – minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score if higher

    Health & Immunization Requirements

    • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must clear for work)
    • Fit Mask Test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply)
    • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
    • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 90 days or 2 PPDs as specified, renewed annually
    • Immunity or vaccination for:
      • Rubeola (Measles)
      • Mumps
      • Rubella
      • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
      • Varicella
    • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
    • Color Blind Exam (in-person, if applicable)
    • Respiratory Safety Clearance, renewed annually (not required for all roles)
