ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - AM Shift

Location: Long Beach, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years non-travel RN experience at the facility
• Floating: Required to Med/Surg and ED holding
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• On-call: Not required
• Documentation System: EPIC
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Certification
• Holiday Work: Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• First-timers: Not accepted

Required Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable)
• BLS (AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable)
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for ICU and ER)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (Relias EKG Basic or Advanced depending on unit)
• Competency Exam (within 2 years of start date)
• Color Blind Testing (annual update)
• Pass/Fail Testing (Medication Calculation and EKG where applicable)

Required Health Documents

• Physical Exam (within 1 year)
• Fit Mask Test (within 1 year, renewed annually)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years, declination allowed)
• Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray (QGOLD, TSPOT, or 2-Step PPD within 1 year, updated annually)
• TB Questionnaire (annual)
• Immunizations or Titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (HBSAB Titer)
  • Varicella
• Drug Testing: Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year (excluding marijuana panel due to CA state law)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination (required Nov 1 - Apr 30, declination allowed)
• COVID Vaccination record preferred

Required Background & Compliance Checks

• Standard background check within 1 year, updated annually (7-year search including SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check
• HHS/OIG check
• State License Verification (primary source online verification required)
• NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Drug and Alcohol Free Policy review
• Hand Hygiene Policy review (specific to Long Beach location)
• Dress and Appearance Policy review
• HIPAA Education Certificate (must be completed before EPIC modules)
• EPIC Education Certificate of Completion (approx. 8 hours of modules, completed prior to or on start week)
• YouLearn Modules (facility-specific, completed prior to or on start week)

Notes

• Pre-approved time off is at manager’s discretion and must be submitted with application
• Candidates within 50 miles may be eligible for local rate consideration
• Fit testing is provided onsite for most locations; some require scheduling with Employee Health
• Drug testing excludes marijuana panel due to California state restrictions; saliva testing may be required if THC testing is mandated by client
• All required modules and certifications must be completed and uploaded prior to or at start of assignment
