Description
Travel RN – Telemetry
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Facility Type: Medical Unit (32 beds)
Position Details
- Specialty: Telemetry RN
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: None
- Number of Openings: 1
Licensure & Certifications
- Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- BLS (American Heart Association) required
- NIHSS certification required prior to start (may submit application without initially)
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year inpatient telemetry experience required
- Competence in drug titration essential
- Experience with inpatient med/med tele patients, including those with developmental delays
Unit & Patient Care Information
- Patient Ratios (varies):
- Days: 1:5 to 1:6
- Nights: 1:6 to 1:7 (not guaranteed)
- Equipment used: Telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
- EMR system: EPIC
- Float: Rotational basis within the unit
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids is a high risk
- Must be flexible with schedules and shifts based on patient care needs
Dress Code
- Black scrubs only
- No other scrub colors or attire permitted
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Adhere to Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care effectiveness
- Care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and with medical comorbidities

Additional Notes
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full availability for the orientation week
- Flexible scheduling options available but must be indicated on submission
- Time off requests (RTO) must be made up later; no RTO in the first week; only one holiday RTO allowed per assignment
