Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Travel Assignment
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description
- Position in an ICU setting requiring Registered Nurse (RN) specialty.
- Assignment during flu season (October 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025).
- Mask wearing required at all times; flu vaccine exemptions/declinations accepted.
Required Credentials and Certifications
Certifications
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group)
- CPI Blue Card Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills or MOAB De-Escalation Course (online portion prior to start; on-site portion at orientation)
Licenses
- Current RN license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be valid and match address requirements).
Testing and Competency
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out (required before onboarding)
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, updated yearly)
- Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated as per latest edition)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
- Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
- Ascension Employment Verification (third-party verification for past 7 years)
- Ascension Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, OIG search, National Sex Offender, updated annually)
- Ascension EPLS (within 90 days of start)
Personal Health History and Vaccinations
- Influenza Vaccine or approved exemption (mask required if declined)
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted
- Fit Test: Required annually; preferred prior to start
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with TB Questionnaire; updated annually
- Positive PPD with negative chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire (optional but recommended)
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Ascension Color Vision Test (completed prior to start and updated every 3 years)
Onboarding Requirements
- Forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background (no filters or alterations)
- Ascension Badge Photo and Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (done onsite)
- Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules (required prior to clearance)
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (optional for onboarding, uploaded by unit leader)
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (provided by agency)
- Resume/Profile submission
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
Additional Notes
- Flu season mask policy applies during the assignment.
- Some training and testing require completion before onboarding; others are completed onsite.
- Background checks and verifications must be current and updated as required.
- Compliance with all credentialing and health requirements is mandatory for assignment clearance.
