Job Description

This entry-level position involves working under immediate to general supervision of a mentor or preceptor to develop competencies in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services. The role supports medical staff in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring a range of conditions in adult and pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, urgent care, and outreach clinics.
• Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
• Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures within scope of practice guidelines.
• Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation and technical quality meet department protocols and accreditation standards.
• Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter technical findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
• Perform quality control checks, cleaning, and high-level disinfection of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research to maintain competencies and improve care.

Required Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology principles, medical imaging, terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and reliably report to work as scheduled.
• Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
• Accuracy in maintaining records and handling data such as names, numbers, and codes.
• Good judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
• Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
• Understanding of healthcare operations, policies, and procedures.
• Strong communication skills with staff, patients, and families, demonstrating professionalism and compassion.
• High initiative, effort, and commitment to efficiently complete assignments.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and attention to detail.
• Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology related to cardiovascular and/or radiologic specialties.
• Ability to apply primary specialty theory and techniques to perform and analyze procedures with general supervision.
