Job Opportunity: CT/Xray Tech

Location: Little Falls, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Role involves coverage for all imaging areas including ambulatory, clinic, outpatient, inpatient, ER, and OR.
  • The hospital is a Critical Access Hospital and stroke designated, performing various x-rays, CT scans, CT angiographies (CTAs), trauma imaging, and orthopedic joint imaging/procedures.
  • No direct clinical involvement required.

Certifications & Skills Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required; ARRT-CT preferred
  • Knowledge and skills in X-ray and CT imaging essential
  • May need to use C-arm in surgery for emergent cases

Equipment & Technology

  • Siemens 128 slice CT scanner
  • Siemens Ysio Xray
  • Siemens MIRA portable
  • GE OEC C-arm
  • Hologic Mini-C
  • EMR system: EPIC
  • PACS system: McKesson

Work Environment & Scheduling

  • Shift lengths vary: 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on need
  • Possible shifts include early morning, day, evening, and overnight hours (examples: 6a-2:30p, 8a-4:30p, 8:30a-5p, 9:30a-6p, 11:30a-8p, 12p-8:30p, 8p-6a, 6a-6p, 6p-6a)
  • Scheduling is managed by the Director; no self-scheduling
  • Weekend work typically every 3rd or 4th weekend
  • Holiday work as needed
  • Call or standby may be required if short staffed, with variable response times

Orientation & Training

  • Typically 1 week of unit/department-specific orientation
  • Training provided if needed for floating to assist with radiology injections/biopsies

Additional Information

  • The department can be busy and demanding, especially with a busy ER and clinic
  • Successful candidates demonstrate good communication skills, willingness to listen and learn, and eagerness to work
  • Radiology supervision available during weekdays; Director accessible after hours for emergencies
  • No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRAs) on staff, but a Radiology RN is available Monday through Friday

Other Requirements

  • Must not have worked full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year
  • Radius rule: candidates must be within 50 miles
  • Return to office (RTO) required upfront; no additional RTO approvals after submission

This position offers a dynamic environment with a variety of imaging responsibilities in a critical access hospital setting.
