Travel RN Opportunity - Med Surg / Telemetry / PCU Float Pool

Location: Prescott, Arizona

Job Details

Unit: Telemetry - Cardiac/Medical, 3rd Floor
Beds: 49
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM
Schedule: 4-week schedules with self-scheduling (finalized by manager)
Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
Holiday Requirement: Work 2 days and an evening or 2 evenings and a day on major holidays (Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day, Thanksgiving)
Call/Standby: None
Floating: Yes, may float to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
Orientation: 1 shift on the unit; orientation includes EOW, nights, and first to float

Required Qualifications

Current state RN license
ACLS and BLS certifications
Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience
Minimum 1 year PCU experience
Must pass dysrhythmia exam with at least 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing
Cannot have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN within the past year at any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity) within 50 miles

Clinical Skills & Experience

Reading basic telemetry strips and interpreting them (RN required to sign strips at least once per shift)
Experience with CVA and TIA patients
Experience with total joint replacement patients
Cerner experience recommended (only one day of orientation)
Common patient diagnoses: CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, GI, diabetes, post-cath patients
Drip titration: No RN titration required; Diltiazem/Cardizem drips given at set rates
Respiratory equipment used: BiPAP, CPAP, breathing treatments

Team & Support

Charge Nurse and House Supervisor present
Nurse Aides available (ratio 1:10-15)
