Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Pomona, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Labor and Delivery RN
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year (first-timers accepted)
- Shift Requirements:
- Weekend requirement: 2 weekends every 6 weeks (night shift weekends may include Fridays)
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week; client may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week assignment
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: No floating within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License: Not accepted
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) - must be renewed every 2 years
- NRP Advanced (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - must include all 11 components, updated every 2 years
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
- Additional preferred certifications (not mandatory for this role): ACLS, PALS, CCRN, TNCC
Special Requirements
- Ability and experience with vaginal exams
- Baby care experience
- Experience with at least 300 births

Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check covering last 7 years, including Social Security address check for last 15 years
- National criminal search, sex offender search, education verification, and international searches if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification required
- California Medi-Cal Exclusion Search within 30 days prior to start
- 2 professional references required (one must be from most recent experience)
- Complete 15 years of work history on application, including locations and time off
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months clearing employee to work without restrictions
- Fit mask test (N95) required; onsite fit testing possible with approval
- Tdap vaccine or declination within 10 years (Td not accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- TB questionnaire required for all candidates
- Immunity or vaccination records for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series, titer, or declination accepted)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Hepatitis C (titer accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Annual flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required
- COVID-19 seasonal vaccination or declination required
Competency and Training
- Annual medication/pharmacology competency exam with minimum 80% score
- Completion of facility-specific orientation packet and acknowledgment prior to start
- Completion of required online modules via facility LMS (WorkRamp) with passing score above 80%
- Drug Diversion Module required for all RNs and LVNs prior to start
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., timekeeping, privacy and security, parking regulations, COVID-19 exposure questionnaire)

- Scrub color restrictions apply (solid colors only)
This position is ideal for a Labor and Delivery RN with at least 1 year of experience, who is certified in BLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and Advanced NRP, and who meets the immunization and background requirements for a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital.
