Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery (Travel)
Location: Carmel, Indiana
Specialty: Labor and Delivery (L&D)

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in the Labor and Delivery department helping mothers safely through the delivery process.
- Full-time day shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Every third weekend and holiday rotation required.
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (American Heart Association) – mandatory
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start (disciplinary actions require additional documentation)
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics (optional but preferred)
- Pharmacology Exam (Ascension-specific) – minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years
- Specialty Exam (Ascension-specific) – minimum 80% score, updated every 3 years
- Color Vision test – updated every 3 years
- Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics) – completed within a year of start, updated yearly
- Fetal Monitoring Certification (AWHONN, Relias, or equivalent within past 2 years)
- NRP Advanced (AHA/American Academy of Pediatrics) – required for onboarding
Health and Safety Requirements
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers, updated annually
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31), exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within a year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two doses of vaccine (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted
- 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
Professional and Background Requirements
- Driver’s License/State ID: Must be current and valid, matching address requirements
- Resume/Profile submission required
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of assignment
- EPLS (Exclusionary Provider List System) check within 90 days of start
- Skills Checklist: Clinical competency checklist completed within one year of start, updated annually
- Education Verification: Must be completed within 90 days of start
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation required upon initial assignment and updates
- Employment Verification for the past seven years
- Onboarding requirements including nursing contingent worker onboarding and education attestations
Additional Notes
- Some credentials and exams require renewal every 3 years or annually as specified.
- Certain documents and verifications must be uploaded or completed prior to or at the start of the assignment.
- Compliance with all health, safety, and professional standards is mandatory for assignment continuation.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a dedicated Labor and Delivery team supporting mothers and newborns in a travel nurse capacity.
