Job Opportunity: RN Oncology (Travel)

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology for a travel assignment in Wichita, Kansas.


Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
  • Nursys Verification: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start. Disciplinary actions require completion of FACIS Questionnaire.
  • Current Nursing License: Primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start. FACIS Questionnaire required if disciplinary actions exist.
  • Ascension Color Vision Test: Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
  • Ascension Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly with a minimum 80% score.
  • NIH Certification: Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F updated every 2 years.
  • Ascension EKG Exam: Must pass with at least 80%, two attempts allowed. Updated editions require re-testing.
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation: Completion of pre-hire education attestation required.
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Completed onsite prior to assignment.
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules required for non-allied positions.
  • MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training: Required certification.
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation required.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted. If negative, two doses four weeks apart required.
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite. Annual update required.
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
  • Positive PPD / Negative Chest X-Ray & Annual TB Questionnaire: Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest x-ray within one year, and completed TB questionnaire. Annual updates required.
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA: Required within 30 days prior to start; annual updates required.
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start; includes testing for 12 specified drugs. Annual updates required.

Professional Requirements

  • Driver's License/State ID: Must be current, match address on file, and comply with compact license rules if applicable.
  • Ascension Profile (Resume): Required for submission.
  • Professional References: At least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.
  • Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender; completed within 30 days of first assignment and updated annually or after breaks in service.
  • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) Check: Completed within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
  • Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
  • Education Verification: Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; rerun after breaks in service.
  • Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updated with each extension.
  • Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past seven years; updated annually or after breaks in service.

  • Ascension Unit Specific Checklist: Optional for onboarding, must be uploaded within a week by unit leader.
  • Hiring Manager Evaluation: Post-assignment evaluation (optional).
  • Name Change Documentation: Legal documentation if applicable (optional).
