Job Opportunity: RN PCU (Travel Nurse)
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Information
- Location: St. Francis Campus
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified.
- Nursys Verification: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start. Disciplinary actions require completion of FACIS Questionnaire.
- Current Nursing License: Primary source verification within 30 days prior to start. FACIS Questionnaire required if disciplinary actions exist.
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training: Required.
- Driver's License/State ID: Must be valid, not expired, and address must match licensing requirements.
Required Health & Immunization Documentation
- Ascension Color Vision Test: Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer. No declinations accepted.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferably completed prior to start. Annual update required.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required for flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31). Exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Positive PPD / Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire: Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest x-ray within one year, and completed TB questionnaire. Annual updates required.
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required within 30 days prior to start.
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider. No declinations accepted.
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually. Includes testing for 12 specific drugs.
Required Training & Competencies
- Ascension Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics. Completed within a year of start and updated yearly. Minimum 80% score required.
- Ascension EKG Exam: Must be completed with a passing score of at least 80%. Two attempts allowed.
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Cerner system test results and training checklist required.
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation: Completion of pre-hire education attestation required.
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Onsite onboarding required.
- Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules for non-allied positions required prior to clearance.
Professional Requirements
- Ascension Profile (Resume): Required for submission.
- Two Professional References: At least two qualifying references required prior to first assignment.
- Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender check. Must be completed within 30 days of first assignment and updated annually.
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) Check: Must be run within 90 days of start and rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Education Verification: Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start. Must be rerun if break in service > 90 days.
- Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past seven years required. Must be updated annually or if break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Must be provided upon initial assignment and updated with each extension.
Optional / Additional Information
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist: Optional for onboarding but must be uploaded within a week by unit leader.
- Hiring Manager Evaluation: Post-assignment evaluation (optional).
- Name Change Documentation: Legal documentation of name change (optional).
This position requires thorough compliance with Ascension Health’s credentialing, health, and training requirements to ensure readiness and safety for patient care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
