Travel RN Opportunity – Operating Room (OR)

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) Specialty
  • Shift: Days, 4x10 hour shifts (06:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
  • Weekend Hours: As required by facility
  • Call Requirements: Scheduled call any day, averaging 5 or fewer calls per 8 weeks

Requirements

  • Licensure: Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
  • Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience (Teaching hospital experience required)
    • Scrub and OR Circulator experience
    • At least 1 year Interventional Vascular experience, competent in conscious sedation
  • Preferred: Multiple years of Level 1 trauma experience

Unit & Patient Information

  • Unit: Main OR, including Hybrid Imaging suite and Vascular Surgery assistance
  • Number of Beds: Main OR 22, Ambulatory Surgery Center 8, Orthopedics 10
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1
  • Patient Types: Outpatient to critical care inpatient
  • Equipment: Includes DaVinci robotic systems
  • EMR System: EPIC

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care across all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Assist Vascular Surgeon in OR and Hybrid Imaging suite for Endovascular and Open cases
  • Utilize nursing process to maintain professional accountability and coordinate patient care with other departments
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
  • Work collaboratively with a team of nurses and surgical techs
  • Perform duties consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong clinical expertise in trauma and OR nursing
  • Excellent communication and human relations skills
  • Ability to stand and walk most of the shift, lift/push patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform minimal kneeling/crouching

  • Clean, air-conditioned OR environment
  • Scrub color: Black
  • Unacceptable attire: Unprofessional clothing, jeans

Additional Notes
